What else goes here? The recent Fletchair comments? DMA experiences?
The nav lens is made by: L.P. Aero Plastics, Inc. LP #208 Clear OEM Part #: 201191-5
There is a list of suppliers in the parts manual.
According to a letter they sent me back just after AYA '94, Lentz Enterprises at Ellington (713-922-6181) works (or worked) on the Grummans. Several of their people used to work at Fletcher. Their shop manager (Bob Binger) had been Fletcher's service manger. I cannot vouch for their quality, or even if they are still there. It won't hurt to give them a call, though.
The Fletchair Group does maintenance and is a parts suppliers for the Grumman Singles.
There is also Air Mods NW which does conversions and also is a parts supplier.
Yes I emphatically recommend my mechanic, Langley Morse at General Aviation Services at the Conroe Airport. The phone number is 409-760-1717. The prices are fair, he does excellent work and he is thorough and compulsive mechanic. He has Grumman experience and has worked on mine for over a year with no problems relating to the service. Go here , you will not be sorry. Also, if you need to be ferried anywhere within a reasonable distance of Houston I'll be happy to take you . You can Email me direct at "MeFlyAA5 (at) @AOL.COM" and I can give you my home phone number if you want. Jackson
I would love to complete my training in a Grumman, can anyone direct me to a California (Sacramento, if possible) based operation which uses the AA-1 or AA-5 for their training.
Lodi Airport (not to be confused with Lodi Airpark -- but that's for another story) uses Grummans exclusively, for their training (last confirmed December 2000). Take a look there. Lodi airport is visible from highway 99 (unlike Lodi Airpark, which isn't. Oh, sorry. I digress again. :-) )
